Cylinder slides in a cylindrical cage and compresses the bottle, which has been softened by boiling water. Preferably the cage is placed in the water and the cylinder's wt., min. 1 kg, squashes the bottle to 1/15th its original height, giving a closed cell which contains no water and can be used as an insulation or drainage material.
