The analogue signal is quantised before the intermediate step with a lower accuracy than the final accuracy; during the intermediate step the digital signal so far obtained is compared with full final accuracy through a digital/analogue converter with the input analogue signal, and the stored coarsely digitalised signal is corrected; after this intermediate step the further quantisation process is again carried out with lower accuracy. |
