<p>A cigarette dispensing device controlled by a clock, is intended for use by smokers who wish to cut down on their smoking, so that a cigarette is only available at given intervals during the day. The battery driven clock (21) is incorporated in a casing with a scale (4) to which a pointer (4) may be set to determine the time interval, and the cigarettes are housed in a hopper and pushed towards a dispensing device (16) by a spring (5) behind a movable partition (6). A knob (14) on top adjusts a plate (13) to suit the length of the cigarettes. A cam plate rotated by the clock carries raised and sunken areas, so that when a time period has elapsed, a push rod is lifted by a raised area, and the outermost cigarette is pushed from the magazine and a lever (15) projects from the husing so that the cigarette can be extracted from the top.</p> |
