The performance of the output member of the unit is actuated by a diaphragm subjected to variations of a differential pressure acting on either side of the diaphragm. The base plate rests on a ring shaped support and the unit is provided with a valve by which the pressure on one side of the diaphragm can be varied in relation to the pressure on the other side of the diaphragm. A ring-shaped flexible plate deforms during operation and produces a back pressure on the pedal resulting at the same time in increased output pressure to the brake system.
