<p>A transversely mounted Vee shaped gantry framework (5) has its widest part (b) over the outgoing line (13), to give operating clearance for both packing heads (16, 18). The incoming product (4), spaced out on flat boards (3), passes under the narrow part (a) of the Vee, is picked up separately by each head (8) and transferred over for palletising. Two empty pallets (10) are fed consecutively, from a stack (12) one under each head, by means of a pusher cylinder and the load is built up in layers which alternate at 90 deg. On completion a trolley, on tracks (23), is positioned under each head (16, 18) in turn and removes both loads to the storage area.</p> |
