1396602 Scaffolding frame MARTINTHOMAS LTD 2 May 1973 [12 May 1972] 22518/72 Heading E1S A frame 10 for making up a scaffold comprises a pair of spaced uprights 11, 12 interconnected by a pair of cross-bars 16, 17, and a ladder whose stiles 18, 19 are parallel to the uprights and fixed at top and bottom to the cross-bars, the ladder being nearer to one upright 12 and each stile 18, 19 being connected to the respective upright 12, 11 by at least one intermediate cross-bar 23, 26 or 22, 25. The uprights 11, 12 have end sockets 13 and spigots 14 for vertical stacking of frames. Opposed pairs of frames are intercennected by horizontal and diagonal braces 34-39, and by one or more platforms 50, 51 which may have hinged portions 52 for access from the ladder. Various scaffold tower arrangements are described, and each is topped by a handrail frame 41; the ladder frames may be at one or both sides of a scaffold, and the ladders may be aligned (Fig 2, not shown) or offset (Fig 3, not shown). |
