<p>Agents for combatting bodily stresses or stress situations contain nicotinamide, ascorbic acid and a polyvalent sugar as carrier mass. Pref. agents contain 9 pts. fructose, 0.6 pts. ascorbic acid and 0.4 pts. nicotinamide. The agents are of use for combatting the deleterious effects of alcohol and nicotine, colds, rheumatic diseases and similar stress situations. They may also be used as bacteriostatic agents, for preventing sunburn, and for protecting against ionising radiation. The ascorbic acid content of the agents is stabilised by the other ingredients, and at the same time all three components act synergistically to give higher and more prolonged activity.</p> |
