The grinding wheel (7) is mounted on a stand (4) and driven through a hexagonal coupling (9) in the spindle (6). The saw (3) fits over a centre (21) and is tightened down by a nut onto a base plate (14). A spring-loaded finger (53 to 60) is adjusted on a slide (45, 46, 50), in order to locate the tooth in correct relationship with the wheel. Another locating finger (65, 65a) is set half a tooth pitch from the first finger (60). A spring (34) inside the centre (21) is wound up, using a knob. Pulling the base plate (14) to and fro causes the saw to move round automatically a total of one tooth for each complete cycle. Both straight and arcuate teeth may be sharpened.
|
