Appts. for cutting rubber or similar material, esp. for cutting strips for tyres, has a cutting disc with a coating of anti-adhesive material, and a cooling device with at least one nozzle spraying a rapidly evaporating cooling liquid onto a region of the cutting disc outside the cutting position, so that it evaporates until it reaches the cutting position. Appts. gives cuts with dry, accurately cut faces and leaves no liquid residues that interfere with further processing, e.g. by decreasing building tack.
