Cylindrical silo for granular and powdery material - has cowls formed in sidewalls to allow full discharge conveyor slewing

The silo has an outlet in the sidewall, a roof and a flat floor, and a rotary conveyor slewing under the control of limit switches about a vertical axis near the outlet, its discharge end protruding from the outlet so as to deliver to a further external conveyor. The slewing and rotary drives for the first conveyor are outside the silo. To allow for the slewing movement of this conveyor, cowls are formed in the bottom part of the silo wall extending outwards, and the enclosed external conveyor to which the first one delivers passes through the silo and its roof. It has a discharge opening for material outside the silo, and a further one, which can be shut off, inside it. This latter opening is formed inn the conveyor housing, and allows the conveyor to be used also to load material into the silo. Both conveyors can be of the auger type. Slewing of the first conveyor can be effected by a rope and motor-driven winch.
