1404876 Attaching fasteners to strips HILTI AG 13 Feb 1973 [13 March 1972] 6895/73 Heading B8C A fastener magazine, for use with a fastener driving tool, comprises a strip of material with apertures each holding a fastener, e.g. a nail, so that the fastener tip does not protrude beyond the opposite face of the strip. As shown, a plastics strip 2 is provided with apertured bosses 6 each for receiving the shank of a fastener 12, and over which may be engaged a barrel 13 of the driving tool. Upon operation of the too], the fastener is driven into a workpiece with the result that the boss is destroyed or disintegrated. The strip 2 may have grooves (24,) Fig. 3 (not shown), to aid disintegration. In a similar arrangement, Figs 5 and 6 (not shown), the lower surface of the strip is provided with an adhesive layer (26) covered with a strippable film (28). In other arrangements, Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown), the lower surface of the strip is formed with ribs (29).
