Alkyltrifluorosilane compounds are produced by reacting an organo-aluminum compound having the general formula AlR3 wherein R is an alkyl group containing at least three carbon atoms with silicon tetrafluoride. The incorporation of complexing agents into the reaction mixture increases the yield of said alkyltrifluorosilane compounds.
