PERFORATED MOUNTING PLATE

1488081 Component mountings LA TELEMECANIQUE ELECTRIQUE 3 Jan 1975 [31 Jan 1974] 232/75 Heading H1R [Also in Division E2] A mounting plate is provided for the attachment of, e.g. low voltage electrical components each having a base-plate (Fig. 1), by screws or the like of diameter # passing through openings A, B, C whose axes subtend a right angle and which are respectively spaced by distances AB = L = k1e and AC = L1 = ke where e is a predetermined modulus and k, k1 are constants. In Fig. 2 the mounting plate 4 contains parallel rectangular openings 3 of width n separated by cross members 2 of width m, and the holes are spaced apart by a distance p = m + n; the components being fixed to the mounting plate at centre to centre spacings which are multiples of e byscrews of diameter ##e (1). It is stated that a = ke (2), and thence deduced that p#1À5 # + e (3), p#3e (4), and a range of typical dimensions are given for different screw diameters, spacings, and values of e. The devices are fixed to the mounting plate by U-shaped sliding plates 13 overlapping the width of a rectangular slot and clamped by a central nut (Fig. 4). Square apertures in the mounting plate may be used. Mounting plates may be interconnected by bending over their edges 8 at 90 degrees into flanges abutting at the axis of symmetry of adjacent openings (Fig. 6, not shown), and devices may be mounted thereon by U-shaped sliding plates engaging the boundary of a rectangular slot 6a; the arms being clamped by a central nut 13 passing through an adjacent slot (Fig. 5).
