Draw twisting yarn by relaxing yarn after drawing - and prior to heating and false twisting

Synthetic yarn is textured by being drawn by a draw roll assembly around pref. a draw localising pin and then being pref. pre-heated and advanced by feed rools over a heater the yarn being allowed to relax pref. by operating the feed rolls to over-feed the yarn to the heater. Finally the yarn is false twisted pref. by passage through a false twist bush and feed to a take-up device by delivery rolls. The textured yarn is e.g. used for knitting. A more uniform textured yarn is produced particularly with polyamide yarns. The process may also be used with other yarns e.g. polyester.
