The furniture door hinge with cup shaped hinge mounting held in the door the mounting being used to fasten the lever arm whose pivot pins are held in holes in the cup. Metallic components are used in order to reduce the wear of the pivots and for accommodating high forces imposed by the door. The hinge cup (3) has a detachable plastics lining (5) made from low wear material held in an abrasion resistant housing (15). The hinge pins (13, 14) are held in bores in the cup. The housing can be made from sheet steel and the cup assembly is able to accommodate high loads.
