<p>Fruit drying device for use during certain phases of the treatment cycle e.g. after wshing, after a fungicidal treatment or after waxing comprises a roller conveyor, mounted on shafts, which in turn are supported by a chassis. Air is drawn in by a fan and introduced under pressure into a heating chamber it is brought up to the predetermined temp. and directed uniformly and completely in the direction of the upper part of the conveyor. The heated air traverses the spaces between the rollers of the conveyor impinges upon the fruit and dries it. The air has a lifting effect and reduces the pressure of the fruit on the rollers, this is partic. important after waxing so that the least possible amt. of wax is removed by contact with the rollers. The dimensions of the device are considerably reduced as compared with those of the tunnels used previously. With the internal heating devices the fruit is subjected to the hot air flowing upwards, less power is needed because of the more rational use of the hot air.</p> |
