<p>1509514 Refuse container with inlets and discharge outlet E PLUSS 21 Dec 1976 [22 Dec 1975] 53428/76 Heading A4A A generally rectangular container, especially for waste articles that are to be recycled, or for building materials or agricultural products comprises a bottom wall, relatively long side walls, relatively narrow end walls one of which has an article outlet, and article inlets defined in the upper region of the container. The container may be compartmented by partitions and if open topped has the article inlets defined by the partitions. Alternatively the inlets 20 are provided in the upper region of the side walls and are closable by sliding plates 21. The partitions may comprise fixed upper plates 14, 15 and pivoted lower plates 17, 18 which can be releasably locked in position by an externally operated lever, flange and bracket arrangement 19, 28, 29. The compartments can thereby be sequentially emptied via pivoted outlet flap 22 once its latch 23 is moved and the container tilted. In a modification the upper plates 14, 15 are pivoted between stops and may be spring-biased towards the vertical. The plates 14, 15 may be locked in selective pivoted positions to vary the compartment volumes. Specified articles are glass bottles of different colours and newspapers.</p> |
