PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing silica particles having excellent dispersibility and a uniform particle diameter by suppressing the fusion bonding of silica particles and suppressing the aggregation of silica particles.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing silica particles which comprises: a dispersion preparation step of preparing a dispersion of silica particles using a hydrolyzable silicon-containing compound as a raw material; a drying step of drying the prepared silica particle dispersion; a firing process of firing the dried silica particles; and a pulverizing step of pulverizing the fired silica particles, where the content of the silicon-containing compound which is insufficiently reacted in the silica fine particle dispersion subjected to the drying step is set at 50 ppm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
