Box in vertical shaft in ship's bow - contains bow propeller drive motor and is hoistable vertically with screw shaft housing and propeller

The ships bow propeller has a horizontal container located transverse in the bow, in which the propeller is located, the screw shaft housing being suspended on the container wall. Above the container, is a drive motor whose transmission to the screw shaft occurs through a support socket. On the top wall of the propeller container (1) a shaft (7) runs vertically to above the vessels water line (3), and in it a loose box (9) fits vertically displaceable. The drive motor (18) is placed in this box in such a way that the latter together with the suspended screw shaft housing and the propeller can be hoisted as a unit out of the container through the shaft.
