<p>A tap changing switch arrangement for a tapped transformer comprises stationary cam-shaped tap contacts (1,2,3,4) arranged in a circular arc, and a pivotable contact carrier (10) carrying two switching contacts (13,14) pivotable over the circular arc and two current branches (11,12) one for each contact and each provided with a respective vacuum switch (15,16) and one of the branches containing a switching resistance (17). The two current branches (11,12) in each rest position are connected to one and the same stationary tap contact (2) (as shown) and during the rotation of the carrier 10 the switching contacts (13,14) more from one tap contact (2) to the other (3) and each switching contact (13,14) simultaneously comes briefly to bear, with the vacuum switches (15,16) closed, against a respective stationary contact in such a manner that the two tapping points (6,7) to which contacts 2,3 are respectively connected are bridged over with the switching resistance (17) switched in. The switching contacts (13,14) of both current branches (11,12) are rotatable simultaneously with each other, and are limitedly movable in radial direction to thereby slide or roll along during rotation of the contact carrier (10).
