The turbine-driven pump assembly comprises a water turbine (1) driving one or more pumps (2). The pump is arranged inside the turbine housing and has the water driving the turbine flowing around the pump housing (1b"). The turbine may have a duct-mounted (1c-d) axial flow or mixed-flow bladed rotor (1a) with the pump housing arranged in the centre of the duct and secured via radial webs or turbine stator blades (1b'). The pump may be a pre-assembled unit which can be axially inserted and fitted into the central space of the turbine duct. The pump and turbine may be plastics and axially removable from the turbine housing.
