<p>A method of determining the cost of heating involves using a room temp. sensor, a heater temp. sensor, an electronic measurement circuit and a counter recording thermal consumption. It is an improvement on known methods enabling heating thermal efficiency to be changed by manipulation of sensors and better response to day and night temp. and, where applicable, weekend switch-off. The room temp. sensor is a thermostat (6) controlling the flow of hot water to the heater (1). The heater temp. sensor consists of probes (4, 5) in the inlet (2) and outlet (3) pipes of the heater. The water temp. probe outputs are fed to the electronic circuit whilst water is flowing in the heater. The valve to the heater is automatically closed if a fault occurs in the measurement system.</p> |
