<p>Pre-formed straw mats provide thermal or sound insulation to buildings or walls (7). Spikes (4) are driven into the wall and two layers of straw mating (8, 11) with joints offset are hung onto the spikes. A metal grid (13) is tied to the outside ends of the spikes and the whole is then plastered (14) to a true surface parallel to the original wall. The assembly is protected from the weather by a capping (17).</p> |
