In the preparation of de-aerated drinks such as lemonade from a mixture of water and syrup or fruit juice, both components are supplied directly into a mixing tank from which the released air is discharged. A pump passes the raw lemonade to a saturating tank, thereby creating a negative pressure in the mixing tank. This pressure is maintained by a controlled addition of air which has been displaced during the filling of the saturating tank. This removes the dissolved air which causes turbidity and bad taste, yet it saves the prior separate de-aeration of water and syrup in separate vessels.
|
