<p>Use is made of large quantities of waste resulting from working of foamed materials in particular polystyrene, in manufacture of components used in building esp. light wt. panels, etc. - requiring a heat insulation capacity. The component make-up comprises 10-25 parts by volume -,pref. 18 - of a hydraulic bonding medium, pref. containing Portland cement- and 100 parts of compressed cuttings of foamed plastics inlaid in this; if appropriate a covering layer on one or both surfaces. The whole, with water, can be compressed to one-fifth to one-tenth of the vol., and dried.</p> |
