Gamma distortion free fluoroscope - programmed image tube fibre=optic coupling and image memory storing only preset number of image sweeps

The fluoroscope component elements are controlled from a control unit (1) including an X-ray source (2). The beam, after leaving the patient (3) provides an input into an image amplifier (4) screen, the amplifier visible image being taken via fibre-optics (5) to the target of a VIDICON (RTM) television tube (6). The target charge distribution is swept, amplified (7) and processed (12) before display (11) to the user. The input line to the processor is interrupted by a switch (8) controlled from a comparator (9c) fed from the control unit via an image counter (9a) and a programme source (9b) determining the number of image sweeps. The fluoroscope is for general diagnostic applications, is free of distortion due to gamma effects and provides a high quality image.
