<p>Printing apparatus, having a rotatable platen (54) with a printing element (56) in front of it, lower and upper platen feed rolls (62) and (72) and a platen drive (58) for rotating the platen (54) upwardly relatively to the printing element (56), is operable to feed, from an upper hopper (66) extending upwardly and rearwardly from the bottom of the platen (54), an unprinted sheet to the bottom of the platen (54) and forwardly and upwardly to the front of the platen (54) into printing position by means of a bail switch (77) operable upon movement of the upper platen feed roll (72) away from the platen (54) to cause the platen (54) to rotate upwardly to move the leading edge of the unprinted sheet into printing position.</p> |
