PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copper foil with a carrier good in detachability between a carrier and an ultra thin copper layer.SOLUTION: There is provided a copper foil with a carrier having a carrier, an intermediate layer and an ultra thin copper layer in this order, where the intermediate layer contains Ni, and having average of S/Sof 0.4 or more, where Sis area of a peak A and Sis area of a peak B with standardized strength as an ordinate and bound energy eV an abscissa for the peak A detected at 852 to 855 eV and the peak B detected at 855 to 861 eV of bound energy in a narrow spectrum of N obtained by peeling the ultra thin copper layer from the copper foil with the carrier according to JIS C 6471 and measurement by XPS regarding a surface of the exposed intermediate layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
