A roller-blind casing with a shell (1) having a width (b) corresponding to the nominal thickness of the masonry work and consisting, in particular, of lightweight concrete, encloses an insert body consisting of heat-insulating material (6), such as foam, in one piece. The heat-insulating material (6) leaves free a cavity (7) which serves to receive the roller-blind apron (9), rolled up on a shaft (8), and the vertical centre line (14) of which is offset, in the direction of the outer wall (2) of the shell (1), with respect to the vertical centre line (15) of the shell (1) by a dimension (x) which corresponds at least to half the thickness (d) of the heat-insulating material (6) in the region of the inner wall (4) of the shell (1). As a result, optimum heat insulation is obtained between the cold cavity (7) and the room side of the shell (1). The lightweight concrete of the shell (1) is introduced homogenously into the masonry work and, owing to its design in one piece, provides a good underlying surface for plaster, wallpaper, etc. on the room-side inner wall (4) and the adjoining room-side bottom wall (18). The mounting opening (16) for gaining access to the cavity (7) can be located on the outer side of the window (13) without sacrificing the window-seal width. <IMAGE>
