A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines is proposed, the fuel delivery control element of which is adjusted electro-hydraulically as a function of operating variables of the internal combustion engine. The fuel injection pump comprises a fuel delivery control element designed as an annular slide valve (10), which is displaceably supported against a compression spring (18) in a recess (11) of the distributor body (2) and which separates a control chamber (17) from a suction chamber (16) into which a fuel feed pump (22) delivers fuel. The suction chamber (16) and the control chamber (17) are connected to one another by a restrictor (20, 46). The pressure in the control chamber (17) is varied by a control pressure generating device (34) by way of a control line (33), which generating device can be actuated by an electronic control unit (35) as a function of characteristic operating variables of the internal combustion engine. <IMAGE>
