A cone piece of a single-screw extruding press is provided with a conveying screw which is mounted in a casing. A filling aperture is arranged radially with respect to the conveying screw in the casing. A feed pocket adjoins the filling aperture in the conveying direction which pocket is formed by and forms an annular space between the filling cylinder of the conveying screw and the casing bore. A return thread seals off the conveying worm from the driving gear shaft. The return thread is enclosed by a bush which at least partially penetrates the filling aperture, and the said return thread is also provided with an annular feeding space which is situated below the filling aperture and is closed off at the rear by an end face which forms elliptical or inclined guiding surfaces. The apex or upper region of the said end face is situated in the region of the upper periphery of the bush at the rear of the filling aperture and the lower point or lower region of the said end face is situated in the region of the lower periphery, as described in Patent...(P3130417.6). <IMAGE>
