The part-stream water meter has a mechanical water counter (20) in the part stream branched off from the main stream. Two pipes (45 and 46) respectively provided as the forward flow or return flow are arranged concentrically and form a pipe piece (50) which can be inserted into a junction piece (10). The free orifice (48) of at least one of the pipes (45, 46) is arranged within the main stream (P). The pipe piece (50) is adjustable about its axis relative to a transition piece (30) which has connecting channels (35, 36) leading to orifices (25 and 26) of the water counter (20) which are provided respectively as the inflow or flow-off. <IMAGE>
