The invention relates to a turning device for elongate profiled material, in particular wooden boards. These are to be turned in the smallest possible space in the shortest possible time. For this purpose, the invention provides, at a longitudinal side of the transport plane, vertically raisable and lowerable rotary turning jaws which, acting together with the supporting means of at least one of the endless conveyors for the profiled material, make it possible in a minimum amount of time for a wooden board to be turned virtually over the width of the wooden board itself. It is only necessary to provide a single turning device in each case.
