PURPOSE:To prevent the attraction of paper by static electricity by a method in which powder jetted from a highly humid area is electrically charged by an AC corona discharge mechanism and the charged powder is coated on a printing paper by means of ion wind, etc., generated then. CONSTITUTION:In a powder coater for the paper discharge part of a printer, provided with a powder supply mechanism 3 (referred as to nozzle hereinafter) to jet powder from a humid area above the paper running face of the printing paper discharge section and an AC corona discharge mechanism 4 (referred as to generator hereinafter) on the downstream side of the powder supply mechanism, powder is supplied from a powder feeder 7 to the nozzle 3 and jetted from the nozzle 3 by means of an air stream composed of high-pressure air from a compressor 5 and steam from a steam generator 6. On the other hand, the powder is electrically charged by corona discharge by application of AC high voltage to the generator 4 and coated on the printing paper by means of ion wind and Coulomb force entailed in the corona discharge. |
