A description is given of a manual cutting device for strips of film, having a lead plate, which terminates in a stationary knife, a pressure strip secured over the knife and having a cutting knife head which is movable relative to the knife. In order to design the device in a user-friendly manner, it is provided that the cutting knife head which is displaceable on a rail secured parallel to the knife, exhibits a roller knife which is coupled rotationally fast with a pressure roller running on the pressure strip. There is the further possibility of constructing the lead plate on the cover plate of an upper part of the device, which upper part is releasably connected to a lower part of the device. Finally, the removal of the film strip portion cut off is facilitated by a film removal platform, on which the film portion cut off can be kept ready and removed between thumb and index finger, gripping being facilitated by finger depressions.
