摘要 <p>The transmission includes a stepless "V" belt type speed change device (40, 36, 42, 38) and in which the torque is split and recombined in a planetary differential device (32). Either the shaft (40) or the shaft (42) of the V belt change speed unit (40,36,42,38) may be clutched to the input shaft (20) through clutches (24,44). In a second embodiment, two additional planetary gear units are provided. The gear train is arranged so that the rotational speed of the V belt pulleys rarely maximize and the shift between drive ranges effected by engaging/disengaging clutches falls in an infrequently experienced reduction ratio.</p>
