Root crop cleaning mechanism - has rotary cage with rotary bars having spiral scrapers and separate drive

A frame has guides for a rotary drum cage. The wall of the latter is formed by fixed supporting bars and a large number of rotary ones. Each of the latter bars (4) has a scraper tool running along it, typically in a spiral (5). A first drive rotates the drum cage and a second the rotary bars over a sector of 180 deg. of the cage periphery. The cage can run in support rings at the feed and discharge ends, these being joined together by two or more girders rigidly, forming a top frame round the cage.
