<p>A computer comprises processor and memory arranged to execute a sequence of instructions each including a function being one of a set of selectable functions. The set includes at least one prefixing function to permit concatenation of values. Instructions are loaded sequentially into a temporary store 63 and data from the instruction is transferred into a register 65 having locations of different significance. When an instruction includes a prefixing function data is transferred to locations of different significance in the register 65.</p> |
