PURPOSE:To provide a stabilizer having an excellent effect of preventing synthetic resins from being deteriorated by light, containing a specified hindered piperidine compd. as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:A stabilizer for synthetic resins, which has an excellent effect of preventing the resins from being deteriorated by light in particular, contains a hindered piperidine compd. of the formula (wherein R1, R2 are each H, CH3; R3 is a 1-4C alkylene) as an active ingredient. 0.01-5pts.wt., pref. 0.05-2pts.wt. stabilizer per 100pts.wt. synthetic resin is blended, when this compd. is used. When a phenolic antioxidant such as 2,6-di-t-butyl-4,4-methylephenol is used together, the stability against heat and oxidation can be improved. When a phosphate antioxidant such as tris (nonylphenyl) phosphite is used together, the tint can be improved.
