PURPOSE:To suppress the deterioration in color balance regardless of state of brightness by providing a circuit correcting variation in slope of the brightness characteristic of a color cathode ray tube. CONSTITUTION:Different control currents IB(R), IB(G) and IB(B) flow to the same brightness adjusting signal 20 and the luminous amount of each light emitting diode is different by setting independently color CRT variation correcting resistance 19P, 19G and 19B from R, G, B. Thus, the change in resistance value of each variable resistive element 17 is different also and the color CRT cathode voltage is changed independently of R, G, B and the value is also changed differently. That is, the deterioration in the color balance due to variation in the slope of the color CRT brightness characteristic is corrected and the color reproducing characteristic with high fidelity independently of lightness is attained. The deterioration in the color balance is suppressed independently of the brightness state in this way.
