To treat the cut mown material, above a mowing bar (9) is arranged a forwardly rotating impact member having a plurality of strips (5) which are fastened in rows to a rotatable roller (2). The length of the strips (5) is calculated so that the cut stalks are flung by them against a working surface (8) formed by the rear part of the mowing bar. The bending caused by the impact, and the subsequent stressing in the region of the mowing bar cause a partial destruction of the waxy surface layer of the stalks, thereby assisting the evaporation and therefore drying of the mown material. <IMAGE> |
