PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device, method, and program for a spot validity determination of a DNA chip image for preventing an erroneous detection based on dust and a pseudo spot in the DNA chip image and for improving the accuracy of the inspection using a DNA chip.SOLUTION: A spot validity determination device of a DNA chip image can image and obtain a DNA chip in a state that a labeled object to be inspected is connected to a probe in a DNA chip where a probe is fixed, and includes: a multistage binarization processing unit for preparing a plurality of binarization images from the DNA chip image using a plurality of threshold values distributed across a whole of the brightness of the DNA chip image as the threshold values used for the binarization of the image; a spot shape and a position detection unit for detecting the shape and the position of a spot in the binarization image; and a spot shape and a position determination unit for determining the quality of the shape and the position of the spot detected by the spot shape and the position detection unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
