PURPOSE:To improve cutting capability and surface roughness, by constituting a milling head cutter to be tilted in plate width and advancing directions of a material to be cut so that the cutter may meet a line device fed at a super high speed. CONSTITUTION:Both end faces of a strip 21, whose vertical vibration is prevented by a support roller, are machined by a milling cutter 24 tilted by an angle theta in the plate width direction while by an angle beta in the advancing direction of a material to be cut and securing tips 38 in the vertical direction. Then the milling cutter 24, after it finishes cutting, is guided to the line center by an auxiliary side guide not shown in the drawing. By this constitution, the milling cutter 24, being formed in an oval shape as viewed from the horizontal direction and increasing a radius R of curvature in a cutting place, obtains an effect equal to that a diameter of the cutter is increased, thus improving cutting capability and surface roughness. |
