PURPOSE:To realize high scanning accuracy by scanning in the subdirection so that an image detection element will be rotated on the parallel shaft in the main direction. CONSTITUTION:When an input button 23 is operated, an image information input becomes the possible state, and the image of an original 29 is read by a memory circuit by moving a front case 8. When a stop button is operated, the stop state occurs, a control circuit 35 stops the scanning operation of an image sensor 13, and the storage contents of the memory circuit are also held. When an output button 25 is operated, the control circuit generates a memory control signal, and the contents of the memory circuit are outputted to an output connector 27 as the image signal sequentially.
