PURPOSE:The titled composition, containing a specific dibenzylurea based compound and 2-chloro-2',6'-diethyl-N-propoxyethylacetanilide, and having remarkably enhanced weeding spectrum and width of suitable application period by the remarkable synergistic action. CONSTITUTION:A herbicidal composition containing a compound of the formula (X is H or halogen; R<1> and R<2> are CH3 or C2H5) capable of exhibiting improved herbicidal effect on weeds of the families Gramineae and Cyperaceae with a long duration but weak effect on broad-leaved weeds and reducing the effect thereof with advance in growth and 2-chloro-2',6'-diethyl-N-propoxyethylacetanilide having high controlling effect on annual weeds of the family Gramineae but exhibiting phytotoxicity to young seedlings of paddy rice and insufficient effect on weeds of the family Cyperaceae with a reduced amount to be used preferably at 1:0.2-2 weight ratio between the former and the latter. The resultant composition has a remarkably long duration of efficacy and is capable of suppressing almost completely weeds throughout the growth period of paddy rice by one treatment. |
