PURPOSE:To improve slipperiness without decreasing an electromagnetic characteristic and to obtain a magnetic recording medium having excellent durability by an easily operatable method by mixing a lubricant consisting of a compd. having a molecular chain possessing slipperiness, unsatd. double bonds and silicone functional group in one molecule. CONSTITUTION:A material which consists essentially of fine ferromagnetic particles and is mixed, as a binder thereof, with a radiation sensitive soft resin having radiation sensitive unsatd. double bonds and a radiation sensitive modified resin having radiation sensitive unsatd. double bonds is used for the magnetic layer of a magnetic recording medium and a silicone compd. having radiation sensitive unsatd. double bonds and a molecular chain exhibiting slipperiness is used as a lubricant. The binder crosslinked and polymerized when irradiated with radiations is securely bound and the molecular chain exhibiting slipperiness provided preliminarily to the compd. acts also while said chain is kept securely bound with the binder. The surface slipperiness is thus improved without liberation of only the lubricant and without spoiling the strength of the coated film as a whole. |
