PURPOSE:To improve the processing ability and reliability of the system by setting a recording area to an exclusively occupied state and permitting a reservation request so as to attain the exclusive control of plural files at the same time. CONSTITUTION:A controller 3' requests the reservation of the storage area of file storage devices 10, 11 to an exclusive state storage device 5 in order to allow an information processing system 1' to possess exclusively files stored respectively in the file storage devices 10, 11 via the controller 3'. The device 5 sets the area when the storage area of each file is not occupied exclusively from other areas and informs the permission of the reservation request to the system 1'.
