PURPOSE:To keep the end clearance of the roller of a rotary compressor at a proper value by forming at least a roller out of the roller and a vane from the material having a linear expansion coefficient less than that of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:The cylinder 71 of the captioned rotary compressor is made of eutectic graphite cast iron, and a roller 101 and a vane 111 are made of tempered cast iron, and each linear expansion coefficient of the roller 101 and the vane 111 is smaller than that of the cylinder 77. When the temperature of the compressor increases in high-speed operation, the difference between the height of the cylinder 71 and that of the roller 101 or the vane 111 increases than at the ordinary temprature, and end clearance is retained. Therefore, the seizure of the cylinder 71 with the roller 101 or the vane 111 is prevented.
