PURPOSE:To obtain an enamel working material subjected to working of a metallic tone as cilamics on the surface of an enamel product by overcoating a base material consisting essentially of mica on the enamel formed on a metallic base body having a prescribed shape and calcining the material. CONSTITUTION:Ground glaze and finishing glaze are applied according to an ordinary operation on a metallic base body 1 formed of an iron sheet, stainless steel sheet, etc. into a suitable shape and are calcined and baked by calcination at a prescribed temp. to form an enamel glaze layer 2. A base material 3 which consists essentially of mica ground to a granular shape of a suitable size and is mixed adequately with metallic oxide and frit for providing an optional color is overcoated on the layer 2 by a means such as silk printing, direct coating or the like. The overcoating layer of the material 3 is calcined at a prescribed temp. to bake the material 3 contg. mica onto the layer 2. The surface condition of the material 3 is settable to a desired surface condition such as bright, matte or other condition by adjusting adequately the nature of the frit to hard, soft or other.
