PURPOSE:To bring a phosphor sheet in proximity to the underside of a photographing base and to obtain a radiation image having high accuracy by passing the sheet through a radiation photographing part provided between two cases for contg. the photgraphed and unphotographed phosphor sheets by means of a conveying mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The unphotographed cumulative phosphor sheet 26 is taken out of a tray 20 and is grapsed between the bottom surface of a long-sized belt 104 let off from an unwinding mechanism 94 and the top surface of an endless belt 110. the conveyance of the sheet 26 is stopped when the conveyed sheet arrives at the photographing position right under a grid 32. The conveying mechanism is driven upon ending of X-ray irradiation and completion of photographing in said position and the sheet is turned over in the position of a roller 102 and is housed into a magazine 38. The sheet is thus brought to face the photographing part 28 in proximity thereto via a sheet of the belt 104 in the photographing position and therefore the radiation image having high accuracy is obtd.
